The Somerville Financial Counselling Service offers information, options and advocacy for individuals and families who are experiencing financial problems.  These services are supported by government funding, are free and are primarily aimed at low income earners and small businesses.

A Financial Counsellor may:

 

Help to organise Budgets.
Give Tips and Suggestions on how to save money. Provide information about Bankruptcy.
For information on bankruptcy, visit the website on www.itsa.gov.au

Give advice about rules relating to bills and debts.
Help to work out payments with creditors.
Advise about government assistance which may be available.
Explain what can be done if bills, fines or debts cannot be paid.
Help with consumer problems.
Refer to other organisations which may help.
