Splashfest Water Safety Week
Splashfest is an annual event that kicks off a Water Safety Week, a week of activities focused on creating awareness about safety in, around and on the water.
This year’s event was held at the waterfront and there were loads of free family fun activities and entertainment, including NT Water Safety mascot Boof the Barra.
Various stallholders were in attendance including Somerville Community Services.
The importance of the day cannot be underestimated as the Northern Territory continues to have one of the highest drowning rates per capita in Australia.
