We welcome Wendy Asche to the Somerville Board

We welcome Wendy Asche to the Somerville Board.

Wendy has worked for 25 years as a cultural anthropologist in both the applied and academic field. This included 15 years with the Northern Land Council as a senior staff anthropologist working throughout the Top End of the Northern Territory, focussing on Aboriginal land rights and land use agreements. In this role she managed large projects and negotiated with a wide variety of stakeholders, as well as dealing with disputes.

Wendy has extensive experience in community development, consolidated by long-term intermittent research and input into aid projects in Indonesia and East Timor.

Based in Brisbane for 5 years Wendy worked as a consultant, expanding her experience with Aboriginal people in Central Australia, Queensland and Western Australia. She also worked as a part time lecturer and tutor at the University of Queensland before returning home to Darwin 5 years ago.

Welcome Wendy.
